We’re now inviting applications for 4 new LIS Executive Committee members for 2019/2020.
If you are an LIS member* or eligible to be an LIS member* and interested in doing your bit for the community, now is the time to consider becoming an Executive Committee member.
*Please note that only LIS members (eligible as per the LIS Constitution) can apply to join the Executive Committee. A new membership fee structure will be decided at the AGM on 8/12/2019.
There will be 4 vacant posts in the 2019/2020 Executive Committee (E.C). Nine of the current LIS EC members will be continuing on for the next year. The aim this year is to keep the E.C. at the smaller size of 13 members.
What is required of an LIS Executive Committee Member?
- The desire to work hard in the interest of LIS and the community
- The dedication to work as a team with the other committee members
- The commitment to attend meetings which are generally held on a Sunday evening every 6-8 weeks (with extraordinary meetings during such busy periods as before the Diwali party). These meetings are a crucial part of how the committee functions and regular attendance is vital. If family or work commitments prevent you from attending these meetings on a regular basis, then perhaps membership of the Executive Committee isn’t for you.
But don’t let that give you the impression that we’re All Work and No Play – the work gets done with a lot of camaraderie and fun.
If you would like to volunteer, please email us (email@example.com) and include your full name and mobile number. The deadline is 2 pm on Sunday the 1st December. We will acknowledge your interest within 24 hours. If you haven’t heard from us, please contact us again to check if we have received your email.
P.S. We could do with at least one more person with IT skills, so if you have these, please do consider applying.
We look forward to hearing from you.
